Freeform Classic
The Freeform Classic treeless saddle.
This saddle has really moved on in design from the earlier Classic version. Now with the exciting addition of interchangeable panels to ensure a perfect fit to most body shapes. Larger knee blocks, anti-slip base and pivoting girth straps. We still have the interchangeable seats which are available in different seat sizes and plenty of D-rings placed appropriately for saddle pads, breastplates and luggage.
The Classic, as with all Freeform saddles, is made from a shaped, injection moulded base. This base is reasonably stiff so as to give excellent protection from localised pressure points, for example from stirrup attachments. This base though, does have enough flexibility to allow the horses ribcage and back muscles to move without restriction under the saddle.
Now the Classic has the addition of interchangeable panels which are secured with Velcro. The Velcro fixing is very strong and means that the panels can be placed exactly where needed. The panels come with two layers of foam as standard so it is possible to vary the thickness of the panels to suit different horses.
Another important point is that when you use the Classic with panels, you no longer have to use a special saddle pad. Of course, the panels can be completely removed and the saddle can then be used with a purpose made treeless saddle pad like the Grandeur.
Half panel option.
Full panel option.
No panels fitted option.
The Freeform Classic is shown here on a Welsh section D cob. The saddle still fits nicely down the shoulder and despite a much rounder barrel, the saddle allows the rider’s legs to hang comfortably down the horse’s sides. Some people can have hip discomfort when riding in a treeless saddle on wider horses but the Classic has more of a twist than some other treeless saddles and offers better support.
